Anybody own a CM Storm gaming bundle?

Anybody own a CM Storm Devastator Keyboard and mouse bundle? What's your experience with it? Also, how do the keys compare to a mechanical keyboard (sound, actuation etc)?

 

Looking to buy one but would like some people to tell me their experience with it before I buy it.

standard run of the mill membrane, if you like that then you are fine, if you dont, then dont get it.

My nephew has it. It's good for a membrane keyboard, you can feel some tactile feedback in a weird way and the mouse is okay.

I'm currently using the bundle, compared to my old boards and mice, it's in a whole new category. Thou if you are used to mice and boards that cost 30$+ you probably will not like these. Exp thus far is that the mouse back light can't be turned off unless you unplug it from the USB and the keyboard light is off by default when you turn your PC on, to activate it you must hit the scroll lock every time you boot up. The keys are unreadable without the back light and the raiser feet on the board are not rubberized. Both components attract a lot of fingerprints and stains, also the mouse seem to gather all the gunk from my desk too, first mouse to do so in my collection. Thou the soft rubberized key caps feel soo good. Keys click reasonably well and you don't need to freaking jam the keys to type. I can't exactly give a good example so here is a bad one: A stack of 3-4 t-shirts put on the keyboard don't trigger any of the keys, hey it's a everyday use scenario . I'd recommend if if this is your first peripheral that costs this much. Not necessary for anything else thou.

If you're a heavy excel user, I would advise against this keyboard. There is no other way to have the back light on unless you turn on scroll lock (limiting your option to easily move between cells in excel) and the back light is almost necessary for use.

Keyboard:It is just awesome.You just can't find a better one in this price. The only think i don't like is the glossy line under the space button.You can imagine what happens to it all the time 

 

Mouse: eh,not so good.For a week everything was good. After that period of time,the wheel started making squeeking noises(and still does) making it uncomfortable to use. Also the side buttons are very easy to accidentally hit. I've accidentally hit the back button well over 10 times and it frustrates me a little bit .-.

DPI is a littel bit low. I would preffer to hit ~3000 DPI.I had to turn up the mouse sensitivity in bf4 by 10%

Also i used to be a claw grip guy. Not anymore.the mouse imo is for palm grip users. Not, a big deal,i adjusted to it very quickly.

 

Conclusion: I would still recomment this combo. You just can't beat it in the price.I think it's out in red backlighting as well.
