AWESOME BIG BUX PC

Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

It will al work together yes

But why not give us your usage, budget and location and see if we can do better

(eww wifi)

Ok well the title was a lie ;3

I just wonna know 2 things

1 Will this work

-intel core-i5 4430

-Sapphire Radeon R9 280x

-MSI B85M-G43

-8GN G.skill ripjaws X

-120gb samsung evo ssd

-1TB WD blue

-500w Corsair CX500

-Windows 8.1 64 bit

-Wifi Adapter Asus usb-n53

The only thing i think may have a problem is the PSU and then if that is all good, Could it handle the Oculus Rift DK2

(If not what improvements needed) Ty ;)

I want to know your adapter history, I get the same ping on wifi as ethernet :/

Oh, I didn't see

Heh. I get 10 ping difference in tf2 when going from n wireless (all the bars) to ethernet. Webpages also load quicker, speeds are faster by 3-4mbps and downloads and uploads are faster.

That is just my experience, it may vary for different people.

Just set up and ethernet "network" in your house / apartment. I currently have ethernet in all rooms (except for the toilets and bathrooms ofc). It takes about a day and ±50$ but it's totally worth it in the long run.

How do USB and PCIe Wifi adapters compare?

USB are more portable however i have noticed that my 30euro usb adapter isn't very reliable and speeds are slower than on my 15 euro pcie wifi adapter. I don't use wifi, but when i build my computer there wasn't ethernet in my room yet.

Distance (you'd mention how many walls), adaptor and its chipset?

Distance, 1 wall (10 metres) from router (not modem) TPLINK uh...forgot. It's a 80$ N wireless router with 3 antennas. I am not home atm so i can't check the specific model.

Nvm, found it: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?categoryid=2166&model=TL-WDR4300 (i think).

My pci e one was also from tp link (forgot as well) but i use it as a hotspot n stuff so to not make it a useless purchase (i used it for 10 days then got ethernet)

Yes, but maybe the OP has some other people in the house who don't really like running ethernet cables. I actually managed to set and ethernet network in my house, but that was only because there's only about 1 inch of exposed cable

Then lay it along the floor and cover it up with a wooden housing (like was done in my house back in 2005 when we still had dial-up internet).

Not at home so can't make a pic.

Run ethernet and a switch

Or grab a powerline kit!

(Obviously if this is not possible then wifi is ok )

Powerline doesnt work for everyone, ethernet is best option

Yeah as I said, run ethernet to a few switches, takes almost no time or money to do

Powerline is second best (if it works), if it doesnt then fine use wifi

powerline depends a lot on your house, when I used it I ended up actually slower than wifi.
