8350 running like s*** help!

Alright to start off I have the fx-8350 at original clocked speed.. An R9 290x 8gb 1866Mhz RAM and I had this build for a while now and I just started to notice some odd things like FRAPS.. When I record with it I struggle to hold 14 fps AND THATS ON MINECRAFT!!! I don't record much but I still have other problems like geek bench scoring me at 9,000 vs other 8350's at 11,000..Also geek bench says I have 4 cores and 8 threads( I'm guessing that's core parking). I watch various of other people record with fraps on the same or even worse build and end up getting 60+Fps. So I wanna know what I need to do to fix this. Thanks

And also please don't give me the lecture about Intel vs amd ugh I'm getting a 4930k in a couple months so I don't wanna here it

Did you install the proper R9 290x drivers? I had issues with my computer until I did that.

the problem is that your recording with fraps im guessing your recording to the same drive a your OS is on and that is most likely why also unpark your cores and overclock it i did it and would never go back

You won't need an i7 unless you are doing alot of video/photo editing/rendering, an i5 is great for gaming and such, but will be a little bit slower than an i7 when it comes to heavy multitasking and rendering.

Is fraps writing on the same HDD as your game? Fraps is very demanding on your HDD.

Reconfigure your Fraps settings, you are probably going for a extreme quality or a very high bitrate. Also check if you have proper drivers.

and btw, 4930k on a couple months? Get a 5930K

Have you installed the correct AMD drivers as @Gr8White_Bear suggested?

You should reseat your CPU, RAM and graphics card and see if that resolves the issues (you would be surprised how much stuff I've fixed with this). You could also test the CPU with Prime95 to see if it is having any errors and test your RAM with Memtest86.

I don't believe that Fraps crushes your FPS if you have a poor HDD, it simply creates a malformed file (or manages with low framerate). Changing your Fraps settings may be a good idea, but I doubt that it is to blame for your FPS issues.

4 cores and 8 threads sounds fishy as all my stats say 8c 8t.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

core parking is only a issue on windows 7

And you dont need any tools to disable it, you can do this in the registry.

But if that is causing your bad performance, is someting im kinda doubt about.

i think its a driver problem.

What mobo do you use?
