[US] Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 - $350

Faceman

Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 for only $350, no rebates, just $350.

Free Shipping + 3 Free Games, I think Star Citizen is one of the options for the 3 games that you get to pick.

For a high end GPU, you won't find a better price to performance option than the R9 290. The Windforce cooler is also supposed to be one of the better coolers.

Considering getting this card and doing what linus did in his "how to paint pc parts video"

My thoughts exactly.

Thats a completely reasonable reaction to this deal.  I bought my GTX780 back in March when the Mining Craze was still going on and R9 290 was $600.  Man, I really wish I had an R9 instead of a 780 right now.

Really? I still prefer the 780 haha. While I prefer Nvidia I wouldn't say I'm a fanboy. The heat output of the AMD cards just doesn't work in my mitx case. I had a 280 briefly and it got too hot.

I want to move to 1440p, particularly the LG34UM94/5.  The new one that is coming out that is curved. I have talked with others and a single 780 will power this monitor without any AA, but I would enjoy the extra headroom that 4GB of VRAM provides me.  I ended up doing a G10 mod on my GTX 780 also, its amazing, temps never exceed 49C with a Kraken X31(2 Fans in Push/Pull).

For a poor enthusiast who isn't worried about lugging around a massive case this isn't much of a problem. (Also yeah, I don't pay for utilities :P

That's weird... It said it wasn't supposed to end until Sept. 3

Their stock of cards must have plummeted, but aren't 290's normally $400 new now?

Ya, I'm guessing they sold out. There were 30 some in stock when the deal started, they must have sold out. Heck of a deal, congrats to anyone who got that card, what a steal.

It does look tempting but I hear they get really hot and I prefer a nice cool card. I do have a X3 Windforce cooler and it's awesome.

The Windforce Cooler is one of the better coolers for R9 290s.
