Need a new WIFI dongle

Wasnt sure if i should post this under networking and have them laugh at WIFI for gaming or post in peripherals and have people complain, so long story short the wifi dongle i am using is around 5 years old i would guess, i have a bad history with them as they always seem to break gone through maybe 3 or 4, ive been using a USB extension like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41o7jb%2BCZvL._SY355_.jpg its kept this dongle alive quite a long time, however a few month ago my case was knocked over and bent the dongle at a right angle ( still worked fine) then today i knocked it into the floor by accident breaking one of the solder connection ( re-soldered it and using it now) I need a new one badly. PCIe cards are out of the question as i have a thick desk and there is a thick brick wall behind my computer. Ethernet and powerline is also out of the question.

 

Anyone know of or recommend a good wifi dongle, i use 2.4ghz?

 

or is there no differences?

in the 15minutes this post has been here i have broken and re-soldered it again, this time was much worse one of the USB pins snapped i had to bodge solder it together again !
