Can I cut off unnecessary cables on my new PSU?

Tro
Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

I just got a new PSU and the wired are a huge clutter

Can I cut some of the 16 thousand sata cables off?

If so, where is a good spot yo cut them?

I'm pretty sure I won't use 90% of these cables and it's just a mess.

Thanks.

Should have gone with semi/full modular :(

You can cut them off yes, cut them off as low as you can, and make sure you tape over the bare cable end

Yeah I know :( my old PSU had less cables and was manageable.

And thanks, it sucks to kinda ruin the PSU like this but it'll make everything alot easier.

Yep. Just make sure to put electrical tape over the ends, just in case.

And make sure the PSU is unplugged when doing this cutting!

Yes the PSU was unplugged haha.

After removing 1 strip of sata it was alot better. Still not perfect but it worked.

Thanks :)
