bad things about nexus 5

lovingGamer

camera could have been better in terms of the software, but it's had to complain at the price point the nexus 5 is at.

maybe a sd slot.

Just ask around for which phones for your budget

I am an iPhone user so I cannot say much about which android phones are good, I do like the nexus devices though so that's probably what I would choose

Battery life.

That and stock android wasn't secure against heartbleed until 4.4.4., so that might be an issue if you want to stick with stock.

Don't know why people are complaining about the camera, it's decent.

Overall there really isn't much bad about the nexus 5. People say battery life is "bad" but it really isn't bad, more like average. Camera is also average. I suppose the lack of an SD slot could be seen as bad.

According to T-Mobile users, the LTE antenna on the Nexus 5 isn't as reliable or strong compared to brand phones made specifically for T-Mobile. e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5 T-Mobile version, HTC One M8 T-Mobile version, etc.

The complaint is that T-Mobile users get more bars, better range and speed on LTE using phones with radios made for T-Mobile's service when compared to an unlocked Nexus 5 device.

Battery life is terrible after 4.4.4. I had to stop using it because it got so bad. Other than that not much to say in terms of bad things.

my nexus gets about 1 and a half days worth with ~4hr sot. and i'm on 4.4.4 all day lte

didn't notice any change since 4.4.2

I don't have much experience with it but the main disadvantage is that it's not a Samsung (most android people are loyal to samsung), it runs android, and the camera sucks.

Non black Nexus 5's use a hard plastic back, which feels much worse than the rubbery back of the black ones.
No microSD slot.

Camera could be better (it's not bad however).
The vibration motor is a bit wonky.

Alot of it's shortcomings can pretty much be inferred by discussion online about the device.  But I think no one argues that it is a bad phone because of these things.

Go for Nexus 5 over LG G2. Stock Android and timely updates is just better in the long run. It is unlikely that the G2 will get the Android L update but Nexus 5 will.

Its not that I'm lucky, a typical nexus will last 1 full day with ~4 hr sot. I'm a rather light user so mine can last awhile longer. If you have bad battery life it could be some app that does it.

i did needed the Snapdragon BatteryGuru app to get good life but after that it where ok, apps trying to connect all the time when I had no data plan I think was eating my battery. I also got a little purple battery bank that looks like a pocket vibrator and now never run dry

for the people saying the camera sucks, not so its fine

really its about the same as any of the newer android phones, well bulit enough screen looks good enough. Not a whole lot to bitch about its just a phone who really cares.
