overclocking stability problems cant even use turbo core

baconcannon

i have a fx 8150 and i can not over clock it what so ever and im kinda in the middle of upgrading but unsure of what to upgrade next i really need a new graphics card but i fear there is something wrong with my processor judging by the way its taking any kind of over clocking its ether that or the mother board at first i thought it might be the ram my ram is old so i bought new gskill sniper ram 4 sticks of 4 gigs at 1600 speed it did not fix the problem so i bought a new psu it helped i had a 550 watt antec and upgraded to evga 850watt 80 plus gold g2 supernova and that didnt help ether so i thought it  might be getting to hot and i wanted to try the all in one sealed liquid coolers so i have an h110 and it runs very cool in my cool bedroom so last that leaves the possessor and mobo and the mobo is a 990fx ud3 rev4.0 i dont think thats the problem but i got the processor used off a friend so its now the oldest part of my computer should i replace it with a 8350 or even the 9590 cuz it would be cool to have

did you disable APM and and enabled HPC(High performance computing)?

guess you don't have enough voltage

FX work well with 1.4 volts

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

when you OC

do not use AMD overdive

use the BIOS to OC

would using amd overdrive really make it that unstable?

yes and if your OC went awry

you will have to reformat the PC as the OC cannot be reset even with BIOS
