Just saw this on youtube, and it made me sad *Explicit language*

I was just browsing youtube when I came along the following video, warning it has some explicit language. It actually made me kinda sad, the way his parents talked to him. Even tho im not gay, I do feel bad for the kid. Anyways, I think its worth a watch.

That's partly why I'm atheist. 

 

Maybe if god was fine with homosexual people then maybe I'll believe there is some random guy in the sky.

Ok i think i have calmed down enough to reply properly.

So from what i understand from the video.

He called his mother before and came out to her. And he trusted her.

She said she'd known he was gay since he was a child <-- Further enforcing the fact that it isn't really a choice.. And yet it's not in her mind

During this talk she changed her mind or something and when he tried to use basic science to explain it she got violent (I even think i heard a punch land)

His father broke it up. Only to accuse his son of bad mouthing him on facebook.. And then he said "I don't have your facebook".. Argument invalid

They wanted him to leave too..

 

Closed minded people are not fun to deal with.. Especially if they are your parents

I just hope he manages to find a better place to live. Most places would be better than that im sure.

This is very true. I hope my angry comments don't come off as too angry, I really only get mad when Christians think they can get away with abusing people. I guess the Bible has some passage about homosexuality and why it isn't prohibited, but there isn't any part of that book that gives those people the right to hate that kid or to abuse him. If they really wanted to live they way the preach, they would support him and help him through his personal struggles. No excuses for being hateful and ignorant...

I'm not sure if its mainly a problem where you live. Here in the north there isnt any hardcore Christians, or hardcore anything for that matter. Everyone is really cool about homosexuals here.

I met those dudes while they came to Georgia last year. Ryan (frontman) is literally a nerd man, loolol. He's a super cool guy though. Bobby also has the deepest effin voice ever
