Go to solution Solved by xyza,

In have heard of dBpoweramp in the past, howerever I think I remember it being a paid application. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, or they have a free version.

they have a trial version which is what i used unless you need this for long term then go with something else i guess

Hi all,

Well the title says it all.  I need a free piece of software (free because I need to do this once so don't want to spend money for one time use) that will let me batch convert my entire music library to MP3 so that I can  fit them on my phone.  I would really like one that would just let me select all my music and convert all the songs to MP3 whilst retaining the neat folder structure which I have spent so much time on organising.  I have found in the past that the LTT community is very fast with their responses and doesn't treat people like idiots (like some other sites do) so I look forward to hearing from you all.

Regards,

Give this a try, not 100% sure about the quality of file it converts to, but it seems to work.

Use Foobar2000 and put all the songs in one playlist. Ctrl+A and right-click, convert.

You may need the codec which is on Foobar's website.

DVDVideosoft used to be my go to programs, however it doesn't allow me to just select my entire library and convert them, I would have to do it folder by folder.

Would this retain he folder structure of my files?  Or would it just output one folder with all the songs in it?  I have heard good things sbout Foobar though.

I think it outputs it all to one folder unfortunately.

xrecode II can do what you want, and if you add the base folder it will retain your folder heirachy.
