folding causes my pc to restart randomly

hi im new to folding@home i used to seti@home a year back and i love the concept, and folding@home has a great purpose

i have alot of computingpower i dont use it all the time and want to run folding at full but it works graet for 30 min to 1 hour and then my pc restarts  randomly and that causes me to loose the WU and it has to start over

im not quite sure what is causing it to restart, im thinking it might be my cpu OC, but the same oc ran for 5 hour on prime 95 small fft with decent temps(80c) and no problems

here is some info (my rig should be in my signature if i done it right)

i5 3570 k @ 4.6Ghz with 1.25 v-core, currently a bit higher volts then original OC to root out the problem, but it dint help the folding crash

it crashed both when using it and when i dint

when temps stabalised the highest core was at 65 c

the gpu is also running when it crashes , gpu runs pretty hot but well its a refr. 780 ti they run hot

it once went tot win8 crashscreen or whatever it is , but the other times it just restarts like i would press the reset button

I am sorry i hear a lot about this thing....what is this so called folding?

Folding@home is using your PC's resources to break down Proteins, in an effort to help find cures for diseases and cancers.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

well the first thing to do would be to remove any oc to see if that solves the problem, then check if you have any flags set, beta flags and the like that might give you bad wu's, you don't need any flags.

i won't be able to respond because i currently don't have any form of internet Connection, sorry :/

try using aida64 to stress test your overclock. folding might use more parts of your cpu than prime95. 4.6Ghz @ 1.25 volts is pretty good if its fully stable.

Edit* oh I forget to mention. if you don't have it, download the latest release of cinebench. the cpu test will find instabilities faster than you can say ffs when windows bluescreens.

Part of the testing... try and narrow down a specific slot that is causing the system to crash. First, try with now OC as already recommended. If still occurs, pause say the GPU and test for 24 hours and then fold with the CPU paused and only on GPU and see what results you get. I bet one or the other is causing the fail, but need to narrow down which one.

If it fails on both, then I might start think about possible issue with motherboard or more likely, power supply.
