does LTT ban controversial threads?

so I made a thread in general discussion called "Android vs Apple dedicated flame wars topic" but it just disappeared so I want to know if its an error or if it was removed?

There are some threads that will fuel endless fanboy dribble, unfortunately.  To be perfectly honest, I hate threads such as AMD vs Intel, AMD vs Nvidia, Console vs PC, Apple bashing, you get the idea. We have those same threads all the time and it boggles the mind that people still ask the same questions on a semi daily basis.

..by purposely creating a thread dedicated to flame waring? I can see why mods wouldn't want that. I understand the intentions, but if I were staff for LTT and saw such a thread, i'd delete it as well. Members should automatically learn to be somewhat respectful to differing opinions. Some people like Android, some like Apple. Big deal, people get so fussed over the most trivial things.

 

As for banning and such, though. Nah. I'm just voicing my opinion and I've seen far worst controversial topics posted in the past.

I think a better idea would have been a thread asking why members like a certain platform and to remind them to give valid reasons and not bash other members for having a different preference. Straight up head to head threads or one inviting a member to fight it out is only asking for a bad time and eventual lock anyway.

it was meant for people who dont get that and were going to do that anyway I just gave them somewhere to do it
