Computer start up randomly slow, then no problems after

Hi guys, so whenever I boot up my computer, either one of the following happens: 1. it'll go through regular boot up but might have a black screen for 10-30 seconds 2. goes to desktop with no problem but sometimes might freeze for 10-20 seconds 3. some part of the boot up will be longer than other. And after any of these happens, my computer at desktop will be pretty slow for about a minute. Like if I were to open anything it would either a. freeze for a few seconds or b. nothing happens for a while. After all this happens, my computer will run smoothly. Basically I have issue booting up for the first 1-2 minutes, then the computer is fine. My friend suggests it is either too many start up programs and/or I need to defrag my computer. my specs are : i5 3570 processor, h61m-a motherboard, 8gb ram, 1 tb hdd, cx600m psu. Thanks!

...So have you reduced the startup programs and defraged your computer yet?

it might be your storage, does it take long to load other programs

I have defraged and lowered the amount of startup programs so far, it has gotten better, but just by a bit. my current storage is 200 gb available out of 1 tb. It doesnt take long to load any programs, it's just the first 1-2 minutes of inital bootup of my computer that everything is slow.
