I'm buying a new graphic card, and i decide that i will buy a MSI product, i was wondering is it worth the extra money for the 290x or i just buy a 290.

if you have any want to save money the 290x is not the card you want.

 

overclock a 290 a fair bit and you can get it dam near 290x performance

Jk, The R9 290x has slightly more stream processors (2816 as opposed to 2560) so it depends. If you OC the R9 290 it will be a minimal difference but still, the difference is there. If you have the money it might be worth looking at the R9 290X vapor-x form sapphire really OR the MSI lightning, vapor-x is slightly better though.

Get the Vapor X 290, I am vouching for it being a very good card.

If you're getting a MSi product and price isn't much of a prob get the Lighting 290X and OC it to the max. 

 

For cheaper the MSi 290 Twin Frozr. 

 

P.S: The 'overclock GPU X to GPU Y performance' argument is BS because GPU Y can overclock too.

Considering you have a 60Hz 1080p monitor, just go for the 290.
