Borderlands 2 Game of the Year (steam question)

DaGameFace

if i have borderlands 2 on my account already, THEN go and buy game of the year edition and put it in my inventory. Can i use it just for the expansion packs, then i send the game to a friend but keep the expansions for myself?

steam hasn't been very helpful, they have no phone number to call, they usually take too long to answer a ticket (did submit one) and i cant post on thier forums because i am in a queue for a mod to add me to the forum even though my account is technically activated....

The game of the year editions don't have the expansions held somewhere separately. Every game of the year edition I got had all the DLC and the game downloaded together as if it was one game. Guess is you'd just get the DLC.

Knowledge is power, guard it well.

I believe if you buy it just adds all of the DLC's into your inventory

What I'd do is gift your old borderlands license to your mate and then your new GOTY one to yorself

Should work either way tho

Compatible with Windows 95

Heard it on the WAN show once, but I may have interpreted it out of context. It's worth a try though.

just buy the season pass.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

The Game of the Year Edition is considered a completely separate game. 2K has announced this before. If you own BL2, but then buy the Game of the Year Edition, none of their content or save files combine with each other. You can not just keep the "DLC" that the GotY edition includes and giveaway the base game because in the GotY Edition they are not separate.

If you have the base game for BL2, just buy the DLC/Season Pass because the GotY edition is worthless for you.
