I'm playing on Mal'Ganis currently, are you horde or alliance? Even if we don't get to play together in-game I can answer pretty much all your question and give you tips to start.

btw, you are about to loose your life hahah

NEVER going back.

BTW you are kinda late for the train, as it's already departed, reached it's highest speed and started to slow down into what I'm going to say is going to be a train wreck (soooo noob friendly it makes me cry).

Although it is noob friendly i have found the people that still play it are true players. I went back 2 weeks ago and although some things are easier i have found im enjoying it more as all the groups i have been in are great and polite.

Heirloom gear. Check WoWhead for a guide to it. For a new character the easiest pieces to get will either be the justice point pieces (run dungeons, acquire Justice Points {you only get these for dungeons, I believe, > lvl 80, maybe 85}) or the pieces from the guild vendors. You need, I believe it's Exalted, with your guild in order to buy some/all the heirloom pieces from the guild vendor, and they are quite expensive (5000g each iirc). There is also a ring you can get by winning first or second place in the Stranglethorn Vale fishing tournament. Realistically, you'll need a level 80 character to win that (flying mount + max flying speed) unless you get very lucky.

By far though, the easiest XP boost come from joining a guild that is at least level 6. This will get you a 20% XP boost all on its own. Also, if the Darkmoon Faire is up (it isn't for another few weeks) you can get sometimes get +50% XP for one hour bonus items by completing the daily quests in that zone. I think it's 50% anyway. It might be 20%. Either way, it's significant. The items disappear when DMF ends.

Addons. There are million options out there, some great, some horrible. The two most important ones I can recommend is Carbonite and Leatrix Latency Fix.

Carbonite is first and foremost a tool/guide for helping you complete quests. It will show you where to go and give you on the screen prompts as to what you need to kill or collect in order to complete the quest. There are lots of addons that do the same thing, but Carbonite has a lot of other features that make it the best or most complete one to use.

It has a secondary addon built right in called Gatherer. Which will load on your minimap all of the gathering nodes for herbs or mining locations for ore to help level different professions. Carbonite also has a warning system built in that is constantly scanning your combat log. Your combat log not only keeps track of everything you do, but everything that everyone else is doing around you. So when a player from an opposing factions is near you, but not yet visible on your screen, it will give you a warning and ping their location on your minimap.

Leatrix Latency Fix is helpful for more than just WoW. It was created by a WoW player to modify your registry to change the behavior of your NIC. The basic settings limit the flow of information between you and what ever server you connect to for any game, not just WoW. Leatrix increases that flow of information to improve your connection to the server. So much so that your ping will often be lower because of it.

Im 18, and I remember I played the WoW beta. This game is literally hands down the most addictive game I have ever played. I had the rarest mounts, I even had the Black Qiraji battle tank which is only 1 per server. Had spectral tigers, you name it I had it. I soon realized that all this time, a shit load of pixels were making me happy. Gladly I stopped playing this on January. This game literally made me anti-social for about 11 years if you count the beta. My advice, if you like it don't play it, if you thing you can handle it, be my guest.

Ohhhhhh boy. It died when the Lich King did. The Vanilla-WotLK glory days will be missed RIP

yea when swtor and such has 1mill subs vs wow with 7mill subs, WoW is by far not dead. it will never die in the next few years. if u wanna see a dead game log into swtor

I joined wow 3 years ago, after Cataclysm but right before Pandaria

It is addictive but became repetitive really quickly then you see its fault

Most of the quests are "Kill 20 something" "collect 10 something" "escort this guy"

And after you rush through the 85 level, you get to 85-90, loads loads grind.

After you are there, you must grind through endless and same dailys, and you can get a gear to start off

Then there are the raids, that are actually fun, but after the 5th wipe, as the tanks cannot tank, is tiring.

It can be a good game, but it became. old.

I am still looking for a new MMO, but it will be a car racing type probably with Forza horizon 2 and The crew

What annoyed me most about the quests were "Collect 20 of a certain body part" like hooves or something. And you had to kill 20 of the creatures before you got just one..

i prefer to have "kill 60 of these" over that. or like, humandiods that will have 1 tooth or 1 finger.

I think we can all agree that every mission like that is boring above level 2

and after all you do, if you want to reach lvl 85/90 is run through them endlessly with looms

This game got repetitively, and the fact, that they nerfed low lvl so much (until lvl 40, even a rouge can tank with a good/okay healer) does not help either. I would enjoy the game much more, if low lvl would be difficult, and had a little bit larger variety, and I would go back, as I really like the healing bit of the game

If you buy the new expansion I believe you get to boost any character you want to lvl 90. I know that is how it is for existing players, not sure about new players.
You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?
