Retina vs S-LCD 3

So my question is simple what is so good at retina that make it stand out from the crowd?I heard only good thing about it.I have a htc m7 and i think of buying an ipad and i want to know if the screen is as good as they say because i will watch a lot of movies and serials on it.

Specifically macbook pro retina display or iPad with retina display?

I've seen an iPad mini and an iPad Air side by side and the retina display on the iPad air is just much more detailed and text appears smoother etc, curves are smooth and not jagged. My laptop is a MacBook Pro Retina and all details are crisp and smooth with no jagged edges in hi-res content

Apple retina on iPad air and MacBook pro uses IGZO panel which is far superior than any LCD in terms of color acuracy, pixel response time, power draw, etc...

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.
