Laptop getting better gaming performance on battery?

NinjaStyle013

Simply, when my charger isn't plugged in my laptop runs beautifully but the second my plug touches the laptops port it seems to go to shit. Ive checked amd settings, set everything so that battery & plugged in modes  are IDENTICAL as well as in Windows power settings so I see no reason why it should be so bad.

It cant be thermal throttling, I can have the charger in & tolerate some choppy gaming them unplug it & have it run great. Its like when I plug it in the laptop underclocks itself but that shouldnt be happening especially when Ive set the same settings for both on battery & plugged in modes.

Looking for some help to fix it so I can charge & play or atleast play without draining my battery.

check the power profiles under control panel. It's possible to accidentally set the laptop such that it runs in a power saving mode under given circumstances, including when plugged in. Try setting it to performance mode and see if it makes a difference.

Didn't they teach you not to plagiarize in school? http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2245376/gaming-performance-battery.html

now check your graphics settings

geforce should be optimus

or amd switchable graphics

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Happens with me too....I searched and then In some forum i found out the while using the battery the APU gets direct power supply but while charging the APU takes the power from the battery which is being charged. This makes the laptop lag while playing games

Youre saying while charging because the battery has to get charged & be used it throttles the cpu voltage? Wouldnt it just take the juice straight from the power anyways, have it go into the pc rather than battery?

the only thing i can think of is to re-download and install the ePowerManagement software from Acer again

if possible see if you can update the AMD driver to 14.4 from the AMD website
