Need your expert opnion on my build. $3450 Budget.

Hi, I need your expert opinion on building a pc. I'm from Philippines. My budget is up to P151,500($3,450).

I want to build a pc that is not just capable of video editing, 3D works but also great at it. I want to play some games too. Like NBA2k15(next gen graphics) and others.

I also like to have multiple monitors(2-3).

I don't have any choices for peripherals yet so please include that on your recommendations. I don't know whether to stick to windows 7 or upgrade to windows 8. What do you think?

I want to have a great new build coz my current pc is too old. It is 5 years old and it can't keep up with my video editing and 3d works for school. Plus, when it is built, it isn't that good. It's just an average pc.

Thanks in advance!

So the basic build should be something like this, especially if you are working on 3D modeling/editing:

CPU Cooler: Corsair H110 94.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($114.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($129.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($118.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB Superclocked ACX Video Card (2-Way SLI)  ($589.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB Superclocked ACX Video Card (2-Way SLI)  ($589.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower Case  ($94.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $2349.38
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

As for the monitor, Since you are working I think you need IPS panel right? if that's the case I have few choice for you:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-vn248h 1080p IPS 23.8inch from Asus

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lg-monitor-27ea33v 1080p IPS 27inch from LG

Just pick 3 of one of these 2 monitor

If you want to step up to 1440p you can but the price jump alot higher, and I think the tax in Philipines isnt very good right? so your 3500$ might not be like 3500$ in America.

A side note though: I dont really see any benefit from a 3 monitor setup in term of working, I like using 2 more than 3 for working and IDK what the 3rd is used for. For gaming very few can take advantage of the 3 monitors setup as well, so how about 1 1440p monitor as your main monitor and 1 1080p as your secondary monitor to use for working? But remember that for gaming they can only run on either 1 or 3 monitors setup, game dont run using 2 monitor setup and it will just use 1 monitor if you do that.

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log

hey welcome to the LTT community forums, please consider following the instructions to post in this thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

i personaly would stick to windows 8.1 rather than win 7...some people don´t like the looks of it but it´s more stable and better performing..

also did you already think about what resolutions your monitors should have ?

Hey, thanks! We pretty much have the same idea except for the processor and memory. I'm planning for 4930k(6 cores) and 32 gb of ram. What do you think?

Hello droggelbecher! Thanks for your opinion. I'll take note of that. Yes, I followed what was indicated in that post, I just didn't put it with the numbers and headers. Did I missed something? Thank you.

If you work need it then yes, go for it :P But you have to change to a X79 Mobo as well as checking to make sure if the CPU Cooler support it

Why would I need to change to x79 mobo? Sorry for asking this but I don't know why. I'm new at building pc.  :)

The 4930K cpu is on 2011 X79 socket. Haswell cpu's are 1150 Z97/Z87.

^This

Basically the socket on the CPU is different from generation to generation, so the socket for the i7 4790k (1150) is different from the socket for the 4930k (2011). The H110 CPU cooler do support 2011 so you dont have to worry about it.
