How can I fix a fan to the bottom of this case?

Silmano

I have a lian-li PC-Q08, that I would like to slightly mod. Right now I have detached the top fan, since it was as outtake and was vacuuming dust inside the case from the back grid, but I want to install it in the bottom of the case as intake. The problem is that since the bottom is already pre-drilled with ventilation holes, I don't know how to fix the fan to the bottom. This is the view of the bottom:

The idea is to fix a 120mm fan somehow in the left ventilation grid, the problem is that the grid is wide enough to cover the fan, so drilling holes will drill part of the grid and make the hole bigger. Any idea how to fix the fan?

If the holes in the grill line up or are very close use some rubber vibration mounts since they can have higher tolerance with holes not being perfectly inline and flex to where they need to be.

Just drill holes in the ventilation grid and use washers to hide the mess. You should be able to find a template online that you can use for drilling.

Get a hammer. :P (JK)

Somehow I think this won't help with the fan.......but it will help with your frustration. :D
