Need One Of The Lightest (preferably linux) OS' Out There

I got a really old laptop off of ebay to toy with and the Windows 98 on it has no drivers and can hardly run anything. Just for kicks, what can run on this thing? I've tried MenuetOS, but it has no support, so linux is preferred with some sort of desktop environment.

The Laptop has;

 

Intel pentium MMX @ 133MHz

80Mb o' ram (maxed out)

and a 1.5 GB HDD.

 

This thing is just something to toy with, I have a good computer, no need to throw it out, it was $12.

I am unsure of what would be good for it, but try Puppy Linux. I have heard it is light on the system.

I got a old computer to toy with too, but mine was 100$... i got a imac g4.

 

As for the OS, i dont know. So i guess this post is kinda useless

cmov is apparently a feature introduced with the Pentium Pro. You will most likely have to find an older version of Puppy Linux without this requirement, though what version I don't know.

But I can only do so many os', cds haven't been too abundant lately.

Damn Small Linux and run the root system on a RAMDISK!

the raspberry pi is just iffy with support and performance. But I'll have you know that the Space Jam Website never looked so good.

I wouldn't try running a GUI. The smallest distro I can find is this - http://ttylinux.net/

It ran windows 98 very well and the laptop was made for windows 95. it's not that bad. I even went on LTT on IE 4.0. All I'm gonna say is that it worked. Eventually.

What versions of puppy linux don't need cmov to run?

i don't really know, 133mhz is reaaaaaaaaaally something, even for pentiums.
