Best 780 Ti?

Go to solution Solved by Najuno,

The best 780 Ti is indeed the Kingpin edition from EVGA. It´s a pricey card but has a cherry picked chip that will OC beyond every normal chip does. You can overvolt this card way further than any other 780 Ti.

But if you are not going for super high OCs (btw the Kingpin is more made for watercooling or liquid nitrogen and benchmarking) the Classified would be an awesome choice or the EVGA GTX780 Ti SC ACX.

Why are people recommendig a CF system instead, when a person is specifically asking for a particular card? A R9 290 CF will require at least a 850W PSU... do you guys consider this when you recommend something like this, and what if that person wants to go with a GTX780 Ti because of G-Sync or other features that are nVidia exclusive?

Hi,

I am looking into getting a 780 Ti soon and i don't know which one is the best. Which card will oc better, stay quieter/cooler while oc'd? What brand has the best reliability?

I would go for the EVGA ACX card, it's a good card with the best warranty you can get and you should (depending on silicon lottery) be able to get a nice overclock on the card, power will stop you before the cooler becomes an issue.

In my opinion the kingpin/classified cards are a waste of money if you're not going to watercool, as they are primarily overclocking toys.

EVGA K|ngp|n is the best, or the Asus RoG matrix edition.

however outside of those two very high end premium cards, the EVGA ACX cards are probably the best

Don't get a 780ti, it's way overpriced. For that money you can get 2 R9 290s which would perform 80% faster.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Welcome to LinusTechTips!

If I'm going for a green build, I would get the EVGA reference cooler, I just love the green GEFORCE GTX on the side.

All of the coolers performs very similarly, so I would just get whatever matches your motherboard brand, or your colour scheme.

For example: MSI Gaming Motherboard, MSI GTX 780 Ti Gaming Twin Frozr

EVGA Motherboard, EVGA GTX 780 Ti ACX

Gigabyte Z87 G1 Sniper (green), EVGA GTX 780 Ti Reference Cooler

my Gigabyte 780Ti OC pretty nice, its the OC ed, so it boost to 1085 stock, but using Evga software or MSi afterburner, and putting it too the max of 116 power limit it goes to 1150mhz, and I get get it to 1220mhz stable.

But, from what I've seen most 780Ti do 1150mhz easy, and it just a lottery after that. If your looking for quiet, then get something with aftermarket cooler, then just OC with a suit. Reference cards will OC to the same as an aftermarket card with a nicer cooler, but be louder is all, in my experience.
