So im in a arguement with someone on the forum who doesn't know what their talking about

Cokeman

So I am currently in an argument with someone on the forums about what FPS a 780 ti would get in BF4. I said that if you had a good i5 or i7 and a 780 ti you could get 120+ fps easy. Then he shows me some chart with benchmarks that he says is a 780 ti and a i7 4960x at ultra 1080p and the FPS average is 79 So I'm tell him there is no way thats real I have seen better ultra fps then that with a 8350 and a R9 270x. But he insists its real. So do you agree with me? A 780 ti and a i7 4960x should easily get 120 fps plus.

(edit) Heres the chart he gave me

(Second edit)

Now he gave up he's not going to argue anymore after I have proved him wrong. But he still says he's right.

Impossible to tell. He's probably either looking at a 4K benchmark or with 200% resolution scaling turned on.

780 Ti should break 100 no sweat with pretty much everything jacked up.

At what resolution? at 1080p it hits about 100 fps on Ultra with 4xAA  post AA and HBAO

I play at 1440p Ultra, with 2x AA post AA off and HBAO, I have vysnc on and it never dips below 60

BTW guys, that chart is from www.techgage.com. Specifically here: http://techgage.com/article/amd-radeon-r9-290x-nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-ti-review/

The way I found that was (in Chrome): Right click image > Click "Search Google Images for this Image" > Find link that is for 290X & 780 Ti.

I don't know what the reviewer did, but he messed up somewhere. More FPS in 5760x1080 than in 2560x1440? Lolno. Even if he bumped it down from Ultra to High. :|

1080p ultra

On FULL everything with all AA on full you would be lucky to break 100 fps, or at least have it run consistently

Ultra doesn't necessarily mean 4x AA, Post AA on high and HBAO enabled

The ultra preset does not actually turn all settings on the highest

100-120fps what.

120fps maximum is different to 120fps average or 120fps minimum.

You always get high FPS looking away from the centre of the map. Looking toward the centre you'll dip below 100. The reason why his graph and my graph don't show 120fps is because they are averages. You wont get 120fps average on bf4 with max settings on a 780ti unless you drop the resolution lower than 1080p or you look away from the centre of the map.

About 1-2 months ago, BF4 and NVidia released updates that drastically improved performance of the game for my 780Ti.  Before the update, on older maps I would average no higher than maybe 80-90 frames, and on newer maps occasionally around 100.  After the most recent updates from BF and NVidia, I average 120-144fps on newer maps, and just over 90-100 on newer maps.  I haven't mapped anything but I do use the in-game frame count, as well as running on a 144hz monitor that I notice frame dips a lot more on.

Yes, many seem to NOT realize this......they assume Ultra means maxed out everything.....including MSAA (which hits framerate drastically).

BTW Cokeman, I did not participate in your poll for one simple reason, your approach is too heavy handed for me. In your poll, you'd asked our opinion as to who was in the right, yet the tone of the title of the thread struck me as being too arrogant. You assume you are right simply by stating 'so im in a arguement with someone on the forum who doesnt know what their talking about'. Had you stated, "So I'm in an argument with someone, who's in the right?", I'd be more predisposed to participating in your poll.

OT, but American English differs from British English in both pronunciation and spelling, you should be more open minded in accepting both since both American English and British English spelling is used here. I'm educated in English, my country used to be a British colony, hence my predisposition to British English. You don't see me here saying that 'program' is spelled wrongly here and that it should be spelled as 'programme'. Likewise, 'laboratory' is pronounced differently in the US vis-a-vis British pronunciation, do you see or hear Brits telling the American they got it wrong? Each has its own unique take on pronunciation and spelling, I think those differences lend charm and color to English, the lingua franca that makes it possible for people of different race and culture to communicate....as we do so so wonderfully here.
