Aerocool DS 120mm fan

spwath

I will be reviewing the Aerocool Dead Silent 120mm fan in blue.

Comes in 4 colors, black having no LED's

So, looks, in my opionion are great!

you can decide from the pictures. THe blue matches my AP123 perfectly.

LEd's are the color of the fan.

Build quality is exeptional, feels very sturdy. Made of plastic and ruber, all the black parts are plastic, are the blue are rubber, including the entire bottom, of the blade

Compared to the spectre pro it replaced, it is quieter, and blows more air.

I will do better testing of all my fans later.

This fan is a great value at 20$, with great looks and performance!

Are there pwm versions of it?

No, at least not now.

I have it hooked up to a fan controller. And low and medium its inaudable, high i just hear air noise

They go on sale here regularly for 9€ because nobody wants them. I had a 140 mm one once. It looked killer, performed well but it didn't run smooth. It was giving subtle vibrations at all voltages. Also the 'sleeve' on the cable is ridiculous and stinks like softeners. Nontheless I'm subbed for a 2nd opinion.

who cares...

I still love and highly recommend Cougar Vortex PWM Fans, 120mm and 140mms.  They are the best fans for the price.  Can often be found for $5-$10 when on sale.

Often go on sale for a flat $10, or $5 after MIR.  These are amazing fans as airflow or static pressure.  Incredibly, incredibly quiet too, even at full speed.  Easily my favorite fans.

And when i once recommended theese fans, someone bashed me for recommending loud fans.

Seriously we need fan database with proper testing. LTT could do that if companies can spare a fan or two, its free publicity anyway.

Ya.... no.  Those fans are incredible, especially when you can get them for $5-$10.  If Noiseblockers, Gentle Typhoons and Noctuas are considered "A+"  The Cougar Vortex fans are an "A" for a fraction of the price.  They also come in at an admirable 2.2 Static Pressure(mm/H20).  You can see the full stats here.

Here is one of my favorite fan roundup videos, keep it bookmarked for easy access. The guy did a really thorough job testing it all.  All of the testing was done against a radiator and screwed down, so keep that in mind.

I mean, just listen to the sound of all the premium fans and then listen to the Cougar Vortex PWM.  It is insane how quiet it is.  Granted some of those fans reach RPMs of 2000+.  I own 5 of the Cougar Vortexs, they are rated at 1500rpm, but all of mine show up as ~1650rpm when I run the Fan Xpert II Fan Tuning, and when I monitor them on HWiNFO.

So unbelievably true! A fan database with not only performance and noise comparison but also a quick resumé of how tha fan is like. I was very disappointed when LTT still kept recommending to buy all the noctua instead of giving a wider variety of fans as an option.

who cares...
