My first ever build log!

mopblond

hi all,

here it is my first ever computer build :) a big shout out to linus and his YouTube channel for literally teaching me everything through his videos love them and all the parts i got were mainly inspired by his videos and some of the reviews and comments in this forum. so a big thankyou for all your help :) this is my first ever build and took a long hard month of work mainly learning about computers and components but again this forum was a massive help in this regard, i had no access to decent power tools till late in the build and had to learn alot on the go, there was alot of redoing and changing, but was good fun and at the end of the day am really happy with the out come.

components

intel i5-4690k
16gb hyper x ram white 1866
corsair H100i
corsair H55
asus Z97 pro
amd R9 290x
kracken g10 bracket white
Samsung evo 840 120gb ssd
2tb seagate hard drive
bitfenix alchemy 30cm white led
corsair ax1200w psu
3x corsair PWM static pressure fans
3x corsair airflow white led fans
corsair red sleved cables

materials

perspex acrylic 3mm
3m carbon fiber vinyl
card paper lots of it!!

mascing tape

tools

30cm ruler
broken set square
junior hack saw
un grounded bare cable drill (got many and electric shock)
craft knife

some scrap bits of sandpaper various grits

eventually had to invest in a dremel and the thing is fantastic will never go back, once i got it wanted to cut everything i saw up!!!

so on with the build i suppose too start i had to decide on a case which was incredibly hard with so many to choose from and all offering different things, i eventually came across the corsair 600t which once i saw i instantly loved and had to get it, a great all round case that was fantastic too mod. like i say with limited tools and no access to any design programs decent power tools or cad machines this will by no means be a professional build but i loved doing it none the less.

thankyou very much all of you :)

and yea i wanted to mount the hard drive in the back but not enough room the cables i bought are very stiff and took up all the room in an ideal world i would just have ssds and maybe mount them on the sides or back out the way but thanks for all the comments :)

i dnt no new to this lol i got it on offer and there's conflicting statements of people saying higher voltage can also mean more efficient when not being heavily used so i just went with it will last me years and means i can use in future upgrades etc

It looks great!! Great job! the only thing i'd suggest would be to straighten up the 24pin cable, and the graphics card cables. Other than that it's looks awesome!

very nice i like the custom extras you have done.

like the seperate cooler kit for the graphics card to.

PSU a little over kill but still all is good.

only thing i can suggest from what my eye seems to pick out (unless camera angle) but looks like you got a little graphics card sag (towards the end) as its a big and heavy long card so it will sag, so maybe you could custom build a non cunductive bracket or something to support it :)

got to love Asus components
