Where to buy TV's in the USA

d33g33

Hi guys,

so im in Australia, and we are getting shafted on TV selection.

Samsung make a really nice 75" UHD but I cant get it in Australia (http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN75HU8550FXZA). We can special order a 65" which is close to what I have now or it jumps to an 85" (http://www.samsung.com/nz/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/uhd-tv/UA85S9AMXRD) but its about $20k and would take who knows how long to arrive, it also looks like it cant be removed from its frame and I want to wall mount it.

The 75" is well priced in the USA so its worth considering having it purchased and using a forwarding company to get  it to me in Australia.

Where is the best place to buy TV's in the USA, just Sears or Best Buy?

Cheers,

if your dirt poor and like supporting idiots

Please explain in further detail. I'd love to hear how purchasing an HDTV from Walmart is for 'dirt poor' people and how it is 'supporting idiots'. :)

I wouldn't be very happy having such an expensive panel shipped overseas. :(

Oh I get it for sure its certainly undesirable, I would also need to check the the TV is 240v compatible.

It's less than an ideal approach.

you've got tons of choices:

Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Costco (Those last 2 may require memberships?), hell you can even get TV's at NCIX and newegg now. I'd say Amazon.com but they restrict a lot of what they will ship outside the USA. Even in Canada we can't order most things on Amazon.com (We have to use the inferior Amazon.ca, which has worse prices and less selection).

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

Cheers,

Are you willing to get a unit that's 120V/60Hz and NTSC/ATSC instead of 230V/50Hz and PAL/DVB-T? Most of them work just fine with 50Hz as long as you use a transformer to take the voltage down to half.

You'd be stuck with HDMI inputs though, as the analogue inputs may not work well with your other devices (unless they are Multi-system).
