Portable speaker systems (PA)?

Hello there,

 

I am in a bit of dilemma at this moment I'm afraid.

Recently I purchased a very dissapointing product, namely this:

Indeed. Now after packing this little beast up I noticed something about it.

The build quality is alright, but not super. However the thing that struck me the worst was the sound.

 

The speaker delivers great bass, no doubt about that. But once it tries to play a bass-heavy part of a song along with vocals or guitars (for example). The whole thing gets very gritty, the sound even silences itself to a certain point.

Now, I am in need of advice.

 

Should I keep this one? As I have been looking far and wide for something similar, but have yet found it.

Perhaps is there a possiblity to upgrade the speaker inside it in hopes of a better sound?

 

Or should I just give up entirely?

I am afraid I am at a loss.

 

Now the bluetooth-part of the speaker is just for comfort, a simple aux-in would suffice more than enough for my part.

As long as it can be carried around and deliver good, clean sound.
