First time PC builder needs help

Hi! So I'm planning to build a computer gaming rig that is under 800USD this October, I know its too early to plan, but the problem is I'm new into PC building, some of my friends said that the best way is to consult the computer maniacs to avoid bottlenecks in the build and incompatibility issues in the hardware. Please guide me on the ff:

MoBo

Memory

GPU

Processor

Power Supply

Did I miss something? I don't want to include monitor, casing, keyboard, and mouse, Because it may not be available in local stores here in the Philippines.

Hope you can help me! Thanks!

You can order a case and other stuff from Amazon.

For picking parts, http://pcpartpicker.com/ is a great site where you can pick the parts and make sure that they're compatible. It even has a filter which only includes compatible parts in the selection.

Mobo should be something with Z97, such as the Gigabyte Z97-HD3

8GB of memory 1600MHz is good enough

For a graphics card for a budget gaming rig, I suggest a GTX 750 Ti

The Pentium G3258 is good for gaming, and you can overclock it.

For the Power supply, get a Corsair CX430M.

I hope this helped you a little.

I came up with this. this is your best buck gaming you can get i think.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($231.91 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($139.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card  ($119.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $774.82
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If you want an SSD go with a-data 256gb one that's around 80$
The CM Hyper 212 EVO is the best even if you want to OC up to 4Ghz.
The GPU is also a great one. If you can save a little more money add a Asus GTX 760 DCII OC 2GB GDDR5. That's the one i'm using and it's flawless.

Now choose the case/monitor/keyboard/mouse/headphones yourself. I would recommend an IPS LED monitor for best color looking.

Hope this helps mate :)

Thanks for helping! I've check the price of each part here in the Philippine market and the cost of that build here is 1000 USD! I'm kind of disappointed but I'm happy as well to build my first gaming rig. Thanks!!!

OK so, many people recommend a 750ti, however I suggest u checkout the r9 270x or the r9 270, both of them are around the same price range of 200++ , and radeon cards have mantle which will increase FPS in games such as bf4 or any other other games that support mantle. Aftermarket r9's also have many sick designs , some with 3 fans, direct cu bla bla bla

For a 4670k it's fine. If it was 4690k it would need a z-97

Where from the Philippines are you? What's your budget in Php? Most parts have a 10% price markup here in the Philippines.

GPUs are outrageously overpriced.

With a budget of US$800 you might look for something like:

  • cpu: i5-4590 or i5-4460 - retail box with Intel cooler
  • motherboard: H97 mATX from Asus, Asrock, Gigabyte, or MSI
  • memory: 2x4GB DDR3-1600 CAS 9 - G.Skill, Corsair, Crucial, and Kingston are major brands, other brands are ok
  • storage: 1TB hdd (hard disk drive) and if budget permits 120GB ssd (solid state drive)
  • gpu: (video card): R9 270 or GTX 760
  • psu: (power supply): around 500W modular or semi modular preferred, 80+ Bronze, Corsair CX, Seasonic, XFX, Super Flower, ask about other models
  • case: ask about models you like - look for ones that are designed for mATX motherboards

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Radeon GPUs here in the Philippines is so overpriced! I think I can include that in my build if there is only a sale here.

I mean for future proofing like 2-3 years, shouldn't I get a z97? I don't know the lifespan of computer components, because the last time I've own a PC is about 13 years ago.

I'm from Sampaloc, Manila. The 700-800USD Build here in the forum or in the internet is about 1000-1200 USD on us! Storage is the most op component on our country.

Why did you pick 500w psu? shouldn't it be 700w?

Both R9 270 and GTX 760 have 500W psu requirements from most major manufacturers. 700W would likely be more than double the total maximum draw of the entire system.
