Is this possible with a Logitech remote or another kind? I've been watching a ton of movies but the most annoying thing is that I have to get up and grab the mouse to rewind, pause, fast forward, etc. Is there any way to control VLC, what I use to watch movies, with a remote? Or maybe use another media player that can be controlled?

Storage: 1TB Samsung 840 EVO SSD /  120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD  /  WD Caviar Black 3TB / WD Caviar Green 4TB. . PSU: Corsair AX760. Monitor: 2x Acer XB270HU. Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB. Mouse: Corsair Glaive.

doesn't matter, using a mouse is much nicer then a phone, hands down, end of discussion.
