Miracast or Chromecast

So I have all windows devices, Windows Phone, Tab, PC and I have one chromecast that gets transported around the house when I want to watch a TV show off of Hulu but that gets annoying. My first thought was to get an HTPC but that ended up being a pain to use at a distance with small text and un-optimized apps. So I bought a Chromecast, sleek and inexpensive but unless it supports the app you are wanting to cast you have to deal with Chrome Tab Casting which will only go up to 720p and is very choppy. So I saw miracast, and I was wondering if the one from Belkin is any better than a chromecast, lower latency, higher definition? Which one would you prefer?

no idea why the hell google made chromecast

they were the guys that were initially pushing mircast to begin with then they said **** it lets make something that pretty much locked down and works on some stuff

The guy sounds stupid to me, he says he has a comcast internet connection, That doesnt even matter what matters is what Mbps your router is. His is prob only 300Mbps. I think I'll just stick with Chromecast for now.

I have a chromecast right now and I honestly love it. But it does have some restrictions. But the fact that it's not your device itself that is playing the video, but the Chromecast itself, is absolutely wonderful.

I do find it super annoying that they haven't released SDK for windows phone as I am looking to get one soon. That's kind of a dick move on Google side (and apparantly google give every other mobile OS a super hard time, besides IOS, for some reason).

have a chromecast, so beast man, so worth the 35 (i paid 25 doe on ebay)

 

my only complaint is for you to watch hulu  good you need to broadcast it from your phone because if you do it on the desktop it is "streaming" it instead(which does get choppy) of sending it the link to play it self. You are supposed to use a phone, not a desktop as the remote control

 

 i have a 54 mbps router, if I use a good computer then it is not laggy when streaming, but it is laggy for me if I use a slow ass computer that can not play HD video even without streaming it

Chromecast is the best because it gets updated very frequently and is made by one of the biggest tech companies.

 

If you want just buy the current version now and then upgrade to whatever else you want when newer models come out.

I've seen that the Chromecast now allows full desktop streaming (even though it's still experimental). Has anyone tried this for general use or for gaming? I found a video about the Microsoft Miracast adapter and the result looks very neat. Do you think that it's worth the price (actually twice the price of the Chromecast) ?
