Anyone ever try this PSU or ever consider it?

So I was looking for a budget 500w PSu and I come across this beauty. I was wondering if anyone else had ever used it or considered buying it. Oh and it looks like it was designed in the 70s by a colourblind four year old.

It looks crap. But it's got pretty good reviews on NewEgg. 4 Eggs as an average for 172 reviews.

well, gimmicky things like that are usually shit, so I wouldn't get it if I were you. However if you just want it as an external power supply for filling watercooling loops and such I don't see why not, wouldn't actually put it in a PC though.

LOL I actually bought a psu like that waaaaaaay back in the day before I knew any better. It actually survived the lifetime of the pc, although it had little load put on it.

I can smell the burnt electronics in the air already.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Please don't buy it..

Also, ignore Newegg customer reviews. At least with regard to power supplies. The power supply working the first time they turn it on = 5 Star review.

Those are apparently nearly 10 years old, I wouldn't trust the capacitors in it unless it had a recent manufacturing date.

I mostly posted this as a joke and would never in real life consider it for a build. I'd buy a cx430 or better if needed before ever considering this. Also I'm really surprised this is still in stock considering the age of it.

the rice is not worth it...

You could try modding a known good PSU with a glass casing but that will void warranties and stuff...
