Besides price, what is the difference between these DAC/amps

Askew

For 250ohm DT990 headphones.

Syba dac

O2

Is there a discernible difference in quality that justifies the massive price gap? I'm a noob who read the FAQ and I don't see the Syba dac in the list but I do see the O2/Fiio E10, yet I see members recommending Syba dac in this sub forum.

I want something good but I don't want to waste money for no reason.

Yeah I like the way it looks I guess, but it costs 5x + the amount that the Syba does, maybe @MayflowerElectronics will say something about this.

I've never tried it so I can't comment.

Also they don't list any measurements so that might not be good.

edit: The entire thing is powered via USB so I'm not sure how much power it can output to high impedance/low sensitivity headphones.

Zac sold his O2 over it.

I think the power output on the front is a massive, massive mistake and as a result would never consider buying the o2.

Ugly.

I'd seriously consider this guy. $350 value.

Hmm, paying more for fixing poor design? Right.

Not going to be much of a difference, buying an O2 is mostly dick factor.

The entire thing is powered via USB so I'm not sure how much power it can output to high impedance/low sensitivity headphones.

@EmoRarity What do you say about this? You don't seem to think the O2 is worth the cash but you didn't say why.

Is the USB power sufficient or not? I don't see why Mayflower would use a dedicated input if there was no benefit in doing so.

The design was originally placed with power in the front, so it's a "modification"  to the amp, which cost extra for labor/custom panels.

Its not that it isn't worth it, its that other things represent a better value for most users. A Syba Dac as a microphone input and its cheaper.

Mayflower, 5v and 1.9A, you do that math and you will know that it is by far more then enough for everything short of electro stats.
