Depends on the motherboard and PSU. It could work, but it could also not work. So which motherboard and PSU are you using?

Typically most intel & amd motherboards currently have a single 8 pin eps for the cpu. Quite a large majority of psu's have a single 8 pin power  which splits into a 4+4.

Possibly you could buy an adapter to go from single 4pin to 4+4pin. But it's solely based on your motherboard & I can't guarantee it will work.

What cpu do you have?

If it's intel, 4-pin is enough for a stable use. Just don't overclock.IDK about  AMD

You may need to purchase an adapter depending on which motherboard you have.

For most motherboards you will need an 8-pin EPS connector. But, if your motherboard only has a 4-pin EPS connector, then I wouldn't worry about it.
