How to set up dual monitor?

Atm I only have 2x power cables and 1x vga cable connecting to my GPU with a VGA to DVI adapter. 

 

My GPU still has 1x displayport free and 2 little 'firewire' ports. 

 

What do I need?

That's not firewire. That's DisplayPort. You need a DisplayPort to [interface second monitor uses here] adapter if you don't plan on using HDMI. If you plan on using HDMI, just use it.

tl;dr: Get HDMI or DisplayPort->[second monitor interface here]. Make sure it's an active adapter if using Displayport.
