Need help to find a good MP3 player.

GlassBomb

Alright, my current IPod is dying after 9 years of use. So I am in need of a replacement. Does any one of you know what I should replace mine with?

Budget? Hell if I care, I'm willing to spend $500 or there abouts.

One of my few criteria that the player need to meet is that it has to have dedicated buttons for volume, rewind, skip, and play/pause.

Anyone have I clue where I should start looking?

popular DAP from Fiio X3 / X5, iBasso DX50, or just get another iPod.

If you are hardcore audiophile AK 120II is really popular.

If you want something cheap, go get something from Sony's B-series Walkmans... It's cheap and it plays mp3...

Get a Sansa Clip Zip and install Rockbox on it. They're cheap, sound good, Rockbox is awesome, and have a microsd slot. So you can get like 68 GB of storage for under $50.

Thanks a lot for the input. I looked around if it was possible to get any of those mentioned here in Sweden, but it doesn't look like it unless I feel like importing :/

Blargh.

I always like the ipod nano with the wheel. To bad the new one has a touch screen.

I have a Fiio X3 i bought from mp4nation.net. They sent with fedex, came two days later from China, no import taxes or nothing. I guess I was lucky. The player itself is very nice, I've bought a microSD to SD card adapter, because at the time I bought it 128 GB microSD cards were not widely available.

Compared to the iPods the X3/X5 and iBasso DX50/DX90/DX100 beats them by far. There is just not enough room in them to accommodate the necessary electronics.
