I can't seem to download the 8.1 update from the store. I was half way through the download then it failed. Internet connection is not the problem.

Make sure your firewall/AV program is turned off. Sometimes it blocks communication to the MS servers.

Microsoft said there was a problem upgrading from wind 8 to 8.1 and they're working to fix it. You can update through windows update.

I'll try again later. But is there any other way to update win8 to 8.1 without using the store?

Microsoft is the devil!!!

Try what he said. I was able to download the update. I just didn't touch my computer (other than to jiggle the mouse to see how far it got).

I recently checked my update history, and some updates have failed to install. Some of them are labeled as important. Maybe this is the problem? Is there any other way to redownload those updates?

Check for updates manually and then try to install them again?

That was one of my idea. But damn! that's around 30 updates. Clicking them manually one by one is tedious. Haha. But no choice i guess. :/

Weird. They may be ones that were deemed unnecessary by another update.
