I think you might be able to dye them without affecting the balance, not sure though.

A bunch of people on OCN and I think one or two people here have died them before it's just a tedious and time consuming process.

painting is likely to ruin the fans. buying the redux fans won't waste as much money as throwing away normal noctuas

Fuck me, newegg still doesn't have either the redux fans or the black industrials. WHAT THE HELL NEWEGG.

And I had the thought of using a small airbrush gun to paint them instead of spray cans or dying. May be better to balance things out if you start at the center and move outwards? just a thought. Maybe turn them on when they are semi dry to try and balance the paint as it dries?

If I were going to paint fans, I would probably do it this way. Seems like the best way to ensure the least amount of unbalancing occurs, yet still having a nice, clean finish.

UPDATE: SO newegg does have the redux fans, but only for business accounts. SERIOUSLY?

What the hell is newegg thinking, that everyone just buys the brown ones because we like the color?!

My understanding is you can pain the frame without casing any unbalance, but you cannot paint the fan itself.
