Random freezees

topsu

So, my computer recently started freezing randomly for like 0.5-2 seconds. Everything freezees and sound loops really fast and haven't changed anything in my system

Cpu usage stays normal while freezee happens.

CPU temps at 30-40c

Specs: i5 4670k stock clocks

Mobo: Asus Z87-A

SSD: Intel 330 series 120gb (OS stored here)

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1tb

PSU: Cooler Master v1000

GPU: EVGA 780ti Kingpin

OS: Windows 7 64bit

Have tried: Reinstalling gpu drivers. (First cleaned with ddu)

Scanned computer with mbam and no threaths found.

E: Looks like this happens only when I am connected to internet, I am at lan event so I tried changing cable + slot on the switch but problem still persists. Any help?

update drivers. Check computer resources when the freeze happens My guess is its probably something using your SSD to 100%. Windows defender does this to me when its scanning, when its finished the problem goes away.

I've had this problem for like +12 hours now...

And I am in windows 7 resource  monitoring (which you get form taskmanager) it has a disk portion but it is really unclear =/

questions

have you check your RAM?

do a memtest

run with one stick of RAM

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I would suggest a piece of software called process explorer which can be found here

If you right click on the "Process" Column heading > Select Columns > Process I/O (top left tab) > Tick reads, writes, Read Bytes, Write Bytes & I/O Priority then click OK

This should give you a bit better idea what is going on.

I think the issue may be my ethernet cable because I started to have this problem when I came into this LAN event and started using my 20m long cable to reach the switch.

Also I brought my pc to the IT guys here and they said my computer had no problems (used their ethernet cable).

Do you have a separate Ethernet card you can try, maybe one of those USB Ethernet adapters?

If you do try that and disable your on-board either in the BIOS or in device manager?

Maybe faulty or conflicting, causing hardware interrupts.
