Best Sub 200$ Upgrade

spwath

What is the best sub 200$ audio upgrade to my set up now? (v-moda crossfade LP, boompro mic, onboard audio)

So what is the best headphone and or dac combo to get for less than 200$?

Used primarily for gaming, FPS and racing.

Also used for music, primarily boston.

What is the best sub 200$ audio upgrade

Does it have to be audio, because I noticed you don't have an SSD......an SSD helps with general pc performance

Unless your onboard is fucked, nothing. You're seriously good to go with what you have.

$200 towards audio would be better spent on getting well-recored and well-mastered music. Or put it towards a future headphone upgrade.

Why don't you want an SSD? If you only think it's 'faster boot time' you are mistaken, every time your CPU moves data from the hard drive to the RAM and you have to wait a couple of seconds, it's done considerable faster on a SSD. Every time your OS needs to fetch a service or process that is not being executed, and all it's dependencies, it gets pulled out much faster.

Dude you've asked this question here so many times. For $200 there's really nothing that meets your wants. Just save up some more and get something else later on.

Because he posted in the AUDIO sub looking for AUDIO suggestions. Stop trying to tell someone how to spend money in a way they didn't ask for.

Honestly if you have a newer HDD it's not that bad. An SSD is faster but if you've lived with an HDD all the time then going to an SSD will just up your expectations and if you were to go back to an HDD you couldn't stand it. Some people still use iPhone 3GS's and find them fine in terms of speed, but that's because they haven't used a 5S.

Depends on what you're actually looking to get. In terms of audio what you have is already great, if you want to impress your ears some more you could get some new speakers, what kind would depend on the kind of music/audio you listen to.

Ok.

So the DT 990 pro would not be much of an upgrade?

if you want an open headphone that sounds a lot like most sennheisers but is cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SE-A1000-Over-Ear-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B0033PROOY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406822758&sr=8-1&keywords=pioneer+se-a1000 I use them when I need open headphones, for gaming or just relaxed listening or if I have a headache.

ATH-M50x and Mayflower Objective2 DAC and Amp...

No. Terrible.

What would be the best price for a headphone upgrade from what i have now?

Well, potentially nothing if you're happy with the sound signature of your current phones. As you climb above $200, the difference in headphones becomes increasingly subjective.

I mean, i havent really experienced any thing else. No place near me has the ability to try out good headphones.

My only previouse experience with headphones are my old skullcandy hesh that i threw away because they sounded so bad and were so uncomfortable.

Open i suggest the AKG K612 Pro

Closed i suggest the DT770 Pro / DT990 Pro (make sure it's 80 ohm version as with the 250 ohm version you'll need a good amp) or the ATH-M50X

M50x's aren't that great and it doesn't need an amp/dac

They would of course be an upgrade, but not worth the money compared to the V-Moda's. Get yourself some studio monitors or something
