Bang for buck GPU

Izaac

I've had a few opinions on graphics cards from people here, but they all seem to be expensive graphics cards. Is there a graphics card like the G3258 CPU, that is just amazing bang for it's buck?

I do have a reasonably high budget, but I don't want to spend all of it unless an expensive graphics card really is necessary. So yeah, basically: what is an amazing graphics card for it's price?

Sapphire R9 280X and Sapphire tri-x R9 290 straight up. Those cards are fantastic. GTX 760 is also a very strong contender.

The R9 290 is the standout bang for buck card if you have the money for it.

Get the Tri-X version from Sapphire.

If you want something cheap, the 7850 is the G3258 of the GPUs; if you overclock it, it beats all it's similarity priced competition.

Is it a monkey? Is it an ape? I don't care, I LOVE'EM!

Any of the new AMD cards will give you bang for your buck. Nvidia is not where you go for price/performance.

Maybe post your budget and an initial parts list and we can help you pick one?

Git Gud.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everybody.

I am going to be running it with a Pentium G3258 just to see how well it performs. If it's not to my liking I'll keep the G3258 until Christmas time, and then upgrade to a i7 4790k or something.

The 290 tri-x looks pretty beefy, so I'll try and fit it in with my budget.

basically anywhere from a 270 to a 290 on the AMD side is the best bang for your buck. Pick your price bracket and get the AMD card.

265 seems to be, although a good gtx660 gives the best muscle for your hustle imo. my mini travel rig uses a 660 @ stock voltage 1150Mhz core, and the performance is close behind a 760. you can find a good 660 for less than 200 bucks if you look around, and it would pair nicely with the cpu you mentioned.

*edit: this here is a stupidly good deal with the free game. 180bucks 3GB 660 plus free watchdogs.

I'm considering the 290 Tri-X or the R9 270x. I'm leaning more towards the 270 purely because it's cheaper - is it still a pretty solid card?

Also,

Thanks for the advice, but I'm from the UK, and Newegg barely stocks any items for the UK - lo and behold this is out of stock in the UK.
