Laptop for studies/RTS games?

VulsaviiK

I'm getting a little sick of lugging this Enthoo Primo to lan parties. And I know it'll be worse once I go to X99 and watercool it, if I get the cash for that.

So, what laptops would you guys recommend. Basically it needs to be able to run Starcraft II, Dota 2, and like, Warcraft III, maybe Dawn of War 2. They're the games I play at my friends houses anyway. I don't want to spend a huge amount on it, maybe $1300AUD tops, maybe less if I could. Not much point buying an expensive laptop when I'll have an expensive PC at home. Likewise, doesn't need a huge amount of storage, I would like an SSD, or the option to buy/upgrade to one, but it's not necessary per se.

So what would you guys recommend? Oh, and it can't be Asus, I've had issues with them, and my experience with customer support when I had to get my old laptop RMA'd was not pleasant, so I'd prefer it to be a different brand.

Lenovo Y510P

Wouldn't a Y50 be better? The cooling isn't bad, you have the added advantage of running one powerful card vs. finicky notebook sli, and the overall fit and finish of it is very appealing, just like the Y510p.

Besides, if this is supposed to be a notebook for school as well, a slimmer and lighter notebook would make quite a difference in my opinion.

i mean, you don't have to have the second card, i would put the extra hdd in the ultrabay personally.

If I'm relying on two GPUs to get decent gaming performance, then SLI is a no-go anyways. The main game I'll be playing is SC2, which doesn't run well on desktop SLI, weird texture bugs and such

it comes with a GTX 750M 2GB GPU, you can add another using the Ultra-Bay

MSI GS60 2PC (Amazon)

The 860M model is the only one available in Australia .... and it'll cost you 2k (inc. shipping and taxes), pretty darn expensive...

I should learn to read:

I don't want to spend a huge amount on it, maybe $1300AUD tops, maybe less if I could.

i5 4670K | ASUS Z87 Gryphon | EVGA GTX 780 Classified | Kingston HyperX black 16GB |  Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD | Seagate Barracude 3TB - RAID 1 | Silverstone Strider Plus 750W 80Plus Silver | CoolerMaster Hyper 212X | Fractal Design Define Mini

I'm going to try a different approach to this. Would a Gigabyte P14F v2 be a good buy?

$1250AUD. i7-4710MQ, 8GB Ram, GTX850M, a 1TB 5400rpm HDD, I'll probably add an SSD to it afterwards. Is the build quality going to be good or is it not worth the money?
