Switch from i5 2500K when changing mb?

Going for a smaller matx build soon, i.e. changing my motherboard. Today I´m using an overclocked Intel i5 2500k @ 4,4 Ghz.

 

-Would you guys change the CPU or stick with a 1155 socket on the new mb?

You'll lose more than 10% of money on a swap, and not gain much more than 10% performance, so no I would keep the 2500K if I could find a reasonably priced motherboard for it.

 

If you've got the cake then a Z97 board and a 4690K is an upgrade sure but not a substantial one, the 2500K is still a capable CPU.

Keep the 2500k and overclock that puppy and it keeps up with any modern i5.
