Kingston HyperX Cloud Microphone Issue

Rhizix
Go to solution Solved by Rhizix,

I meant besides an RMA.

I know , While requesting the RMA I was having a chat with the people I bought it with.

Hi everyone, I just received my Kingston HyperX Cloud but I have an issue.
The audio sounds flawless but the microphone is extremely quiet and sounds like sh*t when I enable Microphone Boost in Windows.
My motherboard is an Asus Maximus VI Hero.

If anyone knows what the issue might be, please tell me ;)

Microphone volume is all the way up, right? Also check if the mic is properly connected both at the cup of the headset and to your PC.

Yup, Volume is all the way up and when using Microphone Boost in windows there is just alot of noise.

Everything is properly connected.

Also, whennconnecting the headset with a combo jack to my tablet/phone, the microphone DOES sound good, which makes me wonder even more whats going on.

Try it on a different PC if you can to see if it's your computers fault or not.

I already tried on my MSI GS70 and My desktop with a Maximus VI Hero.

And the laptop and desktop both have a bad mic sound compared to the tablet? Strange.Try turning on and off some settings in sound options, and if nothing else works, I'd contact Kingston.

It's strange because the Mic sounds good when using the included Combo adapter, but since I can't use that adapter on my PC it's no use to me

And yeah, I already requested an RMA, I'm really sad about this since I heard so many good things about this headset.

Bad luck I guess, thx for the help

Might go for ATH-M50s + a Modmic(if I can find one)

I would not go for M50's if you intend to game btw, they have a really narrow soundstage which is horrible for gaming. Shure SRH440's are better than M50's in pretty much every way, and at least here in norway they are half the price. and with 840 pads they are even better. I have reviews of both in my signature. I also have a modmic 2.3, sounds pretty good, and I got mine with 10 base clasps from their site for 66 USD. but for pure gaming, open headphones are the best, popular choices are the Sennheiser HD5x8 series, Beyerdynamic DT990, or the cheaper Pioneer SE-A1000, which I use for most FPS games.

M50s are truly dead at this point, there are far too many superior, cheaper options.

I can't really go with Full open headphones since I plan to use it when I'm on the train/bus

I think you gave up on this too quickly; the microphone clearly isn't at fault here. Doesn't Kingston have customer support of any kind?
