Do you think there'll ever be a maximum standard resolution for TVs & monitors?

VG Docs

This is just meant as a question to you, will 4k be the max resolution? Will there ever be a max resolution? We're talking about modern standard resolutions of course.

Just something I thought could be an interesting question...

I personally think there may be a point where a resolution will be standard for an incredibly long time in comparison to the prior resolutions, but as far as a universally accepted maximum resolution for standard technology... I'm still unsure about. What do you guys think?

I think as the resolution goes up, so will the size. We will have 8k, 16k, etc for a surround display. So yeah I don't think there'll be a maximum standard resolution for a very long time (give it 20 years and maybe that might change).

I don't think there will be a maximum standard, but as resolutions goes up to 8K,12K,16K, where we can no longer tell each pixiel, i think people will care less about resolution and care more about things like the panel types, colour accuracy, depth and viewing angle. But technology will always come out with bigger resolutions, it is up to the consumer to determine if the resolution satisfy them and stick with it.

Of course. You can't have a pixel be the size of an atom.
