I would back up Windows settings, games, and possibly documents. You can also try to migrate your data to the SSD if you don't have a lot of stuff.

I would personally backup all the files that you need on your hard drive and wipe it to have a fresh start to install Windows 8 on your SSD. If you want to keep your Windows 7 install on your HDD and not wipe anything off the hard drive, you could plug in the SSD and install Windows 8 onto the SSD and when it finishes there should be an option to choose to which OS to boot into every time you boot. You can change settings such as default booting OS and the changing the time before it autoselects the OS by using EasyBCD in Windows 8. I personally would not put two OSes on a SSD as it takes up space.

Games can be reinstalled/redownloaded, main thing you wanna do is backup your browser bookmarks, and any media you wish to keep - images, video & music. Also, it'd be a good idea to pre-download all the apps you'd install with a fresh OS into a pen drive, it'll save having to use Internet Explorer.

I hate to say it, but old school copy and paste. But if you have migration software, like Samsung's, then try it.

Well, if you can, try to copy and paste the files from the backup to the SSD.

well the thing is... The backup is empty right now... That's why I was waiting... I wasn't sure if I could just backup my Windows, and a few slow loading programs and then just load them on the SSD from there or what

I would do it the other way around. Install Windows 8 on your SSD and Windows 7 on your HDD (meaning that you can leave the HDD alone and install windows 8 on your SSD when you get it in order to have two operating systems to use since Windows 7 is already installed or wipe the hard drive after you backed up your files and do fresh installs for Windows 8 and 7).
