Cherry MX... Grey?

I was looking through a keycap tester (this one, specifically: http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard-keycap-cherry-mx-switch-o-ring-pro-sampler-tester-kit.html )

It has Cherry MX Grey switches, which I've never even heard of before. It seems to be a heavy Brown (80G of force, same as Greens).

Has anyone else even heard of these, or have even seen them on keyboards?

I don't get the difference between any of them. In my opinion a keyboard is a damn keyboard...but please correct me if I am wrong.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

I was comparing them to greens as they have the same force.

Greens are to Blues as Greys are to Browns.

They are only for space bars on clear keyboards.

You will not find a full keyboard with only grey.

Which is kinda sad since there are keyboards that're entirely MX greens, they're so nice.

Ducky G2Pro Badass Special Tri-linear mix.

Balanced mix of 3 linear mechanical switches on the keyboard especially for fast pace FPS/RTS players. Additionally the keyboard has shadow keycaps (side print). The 3 Linear mechanical switches are MX Red (45g), MX Black (60g) and rare MX Grey (80g). Fullsize keyboard.

Greys aren't linear so I have no clue what Ducky is on there.

Yep...still think keyboards are keyboards....listen tho I use mine for typing...not much more....occasionally the Sims...but other then that a keyboard is a keyboard to me...I have a controller to do what I need to in games that support it...otherwise I just use my keyboard. I used to have a PS/2 keyboard that I used for the longest time until I sold it....when I built my first computer it was the keyboard I used.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

You are correct Keyboards are in fact keyboards.

That being said there is a pretty big difference between the keyboards I've used recently.

Order of preference.

CM Storm Trigger with MX Greens

Black Widow Ultimate with MX Blues

Corsair K90 with MX Reds

Logitech G110 membrane keyboard

Random shit Genius keyboard

That all comes down to personal preference, whether or not you want macro keys, media keys, usb / audio pass through, a built in screen, which switches you prefer or if you prefer membrane / chiclet and the looks of the keyboard. There are far too many personal preferences for one to be the "best"

They're called Cherry MX CLEAR not grey Clear

Greys are obsolete old MX switches from the 70s  that don't exist now adays "Greys" or "Grays" are clears which are simply a more updated rendition

Greys are heavier than clears, sometimes Grey is used in the spacebar of a clear board.

Greys have never been the same as clear.

Greys are obsolete for a reason xD   and replaced I never said the same they're just very similar and Clears are the new version... Not the same by anymeans just similar and one (clears) was based on the other (Gray)
