Input issues

Go to solution Solved by MattGameDev,

Fix the issue by something so damn simple...

Call up Asus (figuring it was the monitor), the guy helped me for about 10 minutes and knew it wasn't the monitor, so he started helping me troubleshoot the xbox and literally.. like 2 minutes later it worked. Problem being; I had to change the video settings to 720p, then restart the xbox, change the video settings back to 1080p, restart, then change to 'Optimize resolution' and restart. Bam.

Thanks guys!

I just recently got an Asus PB238Q IPS monitor and i'm wondering if i'm setting it up wrong or just have an issue with the monitor itself.

I plugged in the power cable, DVI (to my computer), HDMI (to my xbox one, which runs through a Elgato Capture Card) and the USB-B to USB-A for whatever reason. The problem i'm having is that when i use the input button on the monitor itself and go to HDMI, i get a blue screen that says no input connected (typical no cable connected screen) which means that there is a cable problem right? Wrong. I checked all cables with another monitor and to my tv and had no issues. So i thought it might be the capture card. Bam, wrong again. Tested the Elgato running to my tv instead of my monitor and it worked perfectly. At this point i'm not sure if i have a defective monitor or i'm just being retarded when it comes to setting this thing up.

Any suggestions/help?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the elgato outputs 1080p inputs as a 1080i signal. Change your xbone to output in 720p, it should fix your problem.

Goodluck.

Already tried this but this isn't the issue. I've plugged the cable directly into my TV instead of the capture card then TV and it worked fine.

I'm pretty sure the xbox one doesn't have HDCP but it may be your problem. Otherwise do you have any other consoles or devices you can try? Perhaps try plugging something directly into the HDMI port on the monitor, just to see if the port works at all. It could even be the scaler chip in your monitor. To test this run your computer through a bunch of different resolutions to check they work.

If it is your monitor I hope its still under warranty!

Goodluck.
