What makes a good gameserver?

Doxxy

I want to make a CSGO server, and I made one and it works. But what makes a fun gameserver?

What are your opinions on what would be cool?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I will give you the IP if you really want to come and check it out ;)

Hey.

Pure Vanilla!

I learned to hate plugins but maps also should be as many as are out.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

One thing I have learned in the past is keep it clean, does not matter if they are your friend or they are cool guys. Do not let name calling or mud sling even in "good fun" happen. Might be fun now but in a month someone will get on in a bad mood and have something said in "good fun" at them and drama will start. Set ground rules and stick to them, if people do not like them tell them to scram. Trust me the headache are not worth it. Don't go all yes sir no sir but stick to your set rules.

In old days when I played CS1.6 my favorite server had 32 players, only custom maps, sound pack (looney toons) and always atleast one admin playing. The server had also some funtime rules when there was certain map or low amount of players. Like only dcouts allowed.

Now when I go to CSGO server (as casual player) I look for de_maps in rotation, not just 247 server. 24-32 slots, ff off. Basicly thats enough. Then its about players if I like it or not.
