Anyone have The Crew for beta? I have some questions

MattTheMayor

Title explains. I'm making my first build and The Crew caught my eye.

Questions:

- How are the controls? Are they decent?
- Can you please post your specs and your frame rate?
- Is the map actually big as advertised?

1- it has the worst driving controls for a game like this (just like NFS run)

2-its capped at 30 so 30

3-no

The Control is terrible. Even GTA 5 or Watch Dogs is better.

After playing the beta, I think it is just another racing game, nothing special.

1. I was not a big fan of the driving mechanics. Probably the only reason I won't buy the game.

2. FPS is capped at 30, so I get a constant 30.

3. I would say the map is decent.

It feels bad with a controller (then again im trash with a controller)

770 MAXED 30fps (locked to 30FPS though)

I like it, it feels big enough

Controls are okay. Map is pretty big and looks good. Plays okay so far on my fx8320 gtx660 on ultra besides shadows are set to high, stays at 30fps no drops.

You can raise the fps cap to 60 but I wouldn't because the game was built for 30 it's buggy anywhere between 30-60.

The default keys are the arrow keys for driving. Last time that happened was back when test drive was on the old 386 systems. Enough said

1 ,once you get used to them the controls are fine , i didnt like using a keyboard tho you need a thumbstick for better steering control

2, 30 FPS is fine for a game like this and its one of the better performing betas i have tried of late

3 , the map is big enough to make it fun to drive from one side to the other , Granted its not all of the US but its as close as your gonna get in any game

I put a fair few hours into the beta (24 hours +) it took me a few hours to get used to the Driving mechanics but once you do its fine , Graphics are decent but seeing as its locked to 30 fps they could have pushed the graphics a little bit more , and i like the fact that your always online , especially since the map is sooo big , but the main reason why i love it is for the way the car dismantles it self when you upgrade it , its amazing

im gonna buy this game on release and all im gonna do is drive around lol

hope i helped :)

....Yaaaa, looks like I will not get that game unless they remove that cap....Oh no, i hope its not going to be like that NFS game were the FPS determent the speed the game runs at.

You can remove the cap yourself.

Controls: Horrible defaults but highly customizeable, I was very satisfied after some tweaking

Specs/Preformance: Radeon HD 7870 (GTX 760ish) held 60fps fine on Medium/High. No way in hell would it take ultra though. Many weird glitches occured at 60 but I'd hope they fix them before release (coughcoughBF4coughcough)

Map: Good, big but not as big as they claimed (Very likely could change slightly in final release)

Feels like a slightly less arcade-y NFS (Not Criterion NFS, good ol days NFS)

One thing I would note is that the cop chases are so lame which kinda ruined it for me. I wish they could make a "next-gen" game where you look in your rear view to see 40 corvette cops gunning for you only to be smushed by a giant donut. At least Mods exitst on PC ;)
