Yes. The 4690K has improved TIM which allows for less heat issues and better overclocking.

 

Also, where I live, it is £2 more for the 4690K so it's a no-brainer.

4690K has better heat management and tends to be only 2-5 more expensive depending on currency. 4690k also seems to be a bit more consistent in its chips with less dependancy on luck of the draw.

 

4690K ideally wants Z97 over Z87 though.
